Merchant Processing Consulting and Training puts the interests of the merchant at the forefront of its business model.
The partnership is majority owned and operated by Bill Pirtle of Royal Oak, Michigan.
Bill went into retail management after his graduation from Michigan State University in 1988. He has not only trained cashiers on credit card procedures and compliance, but researched and processed chargeback requests with thousands of dollars at stake.
Over the past five years, Bill has been working in the Merchant Processing industry.
The first company he represented offered him NO training whatsoever. This is the norm in the industry, to hire sales people with no industry experience. The second one began with 80 hours of comprehensive Bank Card training, by the bank that started the card that became VISA®.
Bill decided to start this consultancy after running into SO MANY people with horror stories of dealing with merchant processing sales agents. They promise lower costs and convince owners to sign, many only to find that costs are actually higher. But the clincher is that many merchants are simply told what they want to hear about Bank Card compliance issues. Many sales agents don't know the answers; many don't care. After all, once your signature is on the contract, you might not see them again. One company manager and interviewer stated he wanted his salespeople SELLING, not servicing. That is not the way to do business, in our opinion.
We became an LLC in January of 2009 to become an Independent Sales Office for several wonderful credit card processing companies and a Check and gift card processor. Many credit card processors have one or two niches they are best suited for, by offering options, we can fit the best program to the way you want to do business.
People have asked us why we continue to offer Merchant Services in addition to the Consulting and Training. With the restructuring, SALES is now the primary focus because as your agent, we can communicate directly with the processor to keep you up-to-date on compliance and cost issues. Consulting & Training only will be offered if you do not want to change or if you face excessive charges for leaving early. Writing for a processor like our partners also allows us to offer merchants other choices including check processing, gift cards, business capital and other options with a great customer service program.
